I Fagiolini and The Renaissance Singers Striggio: Mass in 40 Parts Tallis: Spem in Alium Saturday, 22 September 2012, 7.30pm St Augustine's Church, Kilburn, London NW6 5XB I Fagiolini presents the only London performance of a programme including the Striggio Mass in 40 parts and the motet Ecce beatam lucem along with the new version of Tallis Spem in Alium with instruments. Their premiere recording of this music shot to the top of the classical charts and won a Gramophone Award in 2011. Thanks to funding from the National Lottery, through Arts Council England, I Fagiolini are able to work with The Renaissance Singers, providing an opportunity for them to perform alongside the cream of the UK’s professional singers and instrumentalists. The glorious architecture of St Augustine's Kilburn, often described as the 'cathedral of North London' will be the perfect setting to match this monumental music.
