Season 2016-17

Our 2016-17 season included some exciting guest conductors, the LIACCC competition at St John's Smith Square and a whole host of wonderful music:

In October 2016, Jeremy Summerly led our workshop "Sound Inspires". Set in the wonderful St Luke's Chelsea, we explored the Missa Gloria Tibi Trinitas

Our Christmas concert, "Shepherds, what have you seen?", held in St George's Bloomsbury, featured the Clemens, Missa Pastores quidnam vidistis and motets by Verdelot, Josquin, Willaert.

In March 2017, we returned to St Sepulchre-Without-Newgate to perform the Missa Beata Dei genetrix by Alonso Lobo, with a pre-concert talk by our President, Bruno Turner

Premiere of a new edition of six-part Mass We also performed Lobo's Lamentations, Ave Maria a8, and Versa est in luctum

In May, our guest conductor James Davey led our concert "Signatures in Sound", a combination of styles and periods of music, featuring  Josquin, Lassus and Part.

In June / July, we participated in the London International A Cappella Choral Competition at St John’s, Smith Square. We were excited to win the first heat, and to perform in front of Arvo Part during the final.

The competition was very fierce, the feedback was incredibly useful, and we found the whole experience to be insightful.

In October 2017, we welcomed Gawain Glenton, leading us in a Lutheran programme at St George’s, Bloomsbury, featuring works be composers including Schutz, Pachelbel, Bach.
